In recent years my paintings have all included a house or cottage, thus the name of my web site, Cottage by the C(haké). The paintings on view are a selection that span the past three years and are part of an ongoing series of works I call Altered Houses. Each painting uses a collaged house that I paste on gessoed board, alter with paint and pencil, and transform to place it in an entirely new location; I consider my paintings a kind of creative recycling.

The selection on the “Paintings” page includes paintings I have already sold as well as ones still available. The “Prints for Sale” page, is just as it sounds, framed limited editon reproductions, printed on acid free paper with archival inks.

For those curious about the signing of my art work I am of Armenian descent, and my full name is Chaké Kavookjian Higgison. While I am proud of my heritage, its an intimidating name to try fit on my small paintings and even harder to pronounce when seen for the first time, thus I use "C.K." for my signature abbreviation.
